WORK: Big Ben Poppies Projection for Remembrance Sunday

For Remembrance Sunday 2015 Crucial FX projected 3D poppies on Elizabeth Tower – better known as Big Ben – to commemorate all those who lost their lives in World War 1. The staggering 50 metre HD projection decked the neo-gothic walls of Big Ben between dusk and 10pm on Sunday 7th November.

Designed entirely in-house by Crucial FX, a scrolling ribbon around the poppies named each and every battle from the 1st World War. Although Crucial FX have a long history of working with the Houses of Parliament this was the first time we have used our latest RealTime technology to create 3D images and scenes that rendered live.

Mark Rivkin, Managing Director of Crucial FX said: “We are very proud to be involved in this project. We have worked very closely with the Houses of Parliament for many years now on Remembrance Day projections as well as the projections for the general elections. It is always an honour and a privilege.”
